Shakyamuni Buddha (the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama), depicted in his classic iconography of enlightenment. Seated in the full lotus posture (padmasana) atop a vibrant, multi-layered lotus throne, his right hand extends downward touching the earth in the Bhumisparsha mudra (earth-witness gesture), calling the earth to witness his spiritual awakening, while his left hand rests in his lap holding an alms bowl (patra). Draped in refined saffron-orange monastic robes and featuring iconic marks of a Buddha—such as the blue topknot (ushnisha), gentle urna on the forehead, elongated earlobes, and a soft circular halo—he sits peacefully set against a gentle landscape of rolling hills and trees, with auspicious offerings arranged at the bottom foreground.
