Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the 8th-century Indian master credited with bringing Tantric Buddhism to Tibet. Seated centrally in a regal posture upon a lotus throne, he wears his characteristic lotus hat, holds a golden vajra (thunderbolt) in his right hand, a skull cup (kapala) containing a long-life vase in his left hand, and cradles a ritual trident (khatvanga) along his left arm. Above him at the top sits Amitabha Buddha within a radiating halo, symbolizing his spiritual lineage, while his two primary consorts—Mandarava on his right and Yeshe Tsogyal on his left—are depicted seated on lotus cushions at the lower left and right corners. The composition is richly embellished with an intricate golden aura, ornate floral borders, mythical creatures (garudas and lions), and traditional offering bowls set on a table below, all rendered in exquisite detail against a deep blue brocade backdrop.
