White Tara (Sitatara), a major deity in Vajrayana Buddhism associated with compassion, healing, long life, and serene wisdom. Seated gracefully in a full lotus posture on a multi-layered pink lotus throne, she is identifiable by her peaceful white complexion, seven eyes (including eyes on her forehead, palms, and soles to perceive suffering everywhere), and her left hand holding the stem of a blooming pink lotus near her heart while her right hand extends in the Varada Mudra of boon-granting generosity. She is surrounded by an elaborate, gilded, and ornate flaming aureole decorated with intricate scrollwork, dragons, and lush floral motifs. Above her sits Amitabha Buddha—the Buddha of Infinite Light, representing her spiritual lineage—while below her throne rest two attendant deities alongside offerings: Amitayus (the Buddha of Longevity, in red) on the bottom left and Ushnishavijaya (a goddess of longevity, with multiple arms) on the bottom right.
