Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa), the primordial deity of purification, wisdom, and mind’s ultimate nature in Tibetan Buddhism. Seated in the full lotus posture (padmasana) atop an open lotus seat floating amidst soft clouds, his luminous white body signifies the pristine, unblemished purity of primordial mind. In his right hand held upright before his chest, he holds a golden vajra (dorje), representing skillful means and immutable ultimate reality, while his left hand rests in his lap holding an inverted silver ghanta (ritual bell), symbolizing wisdom and the emptiness of all phenomena. Adorned with a five-pointed golden crown, fine jeweled ornaments, and flowing silk scarves that loop gracefully around his body, he is framed by a glowing circular halo against a calm blue sky bearing the sun, moon, and stars, with traditional ritual offerings arranged along the bottom base.
