Green Tara (Dolma), a revered female deity and Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism known as the mother of liberation and embodiment of active compassion. Rendered in traditional thangka painting style with delicate, vibrant colors, she is seated on a lotus throne supported by soft clouds, with her right foot extended forward in a posture of readiness to step into the world to alleviate suffering (lalitasana). Her right hand rests on her right knee in the varada mudra (gesture of grant giving/boon-bestowing), while her left hand is held at heart level in the vitarka mudra (gesture of teaching and protection), gently holding the stem of a blooming blue night lotus (utpala), which symbolizes purity and spiritual awakening. Adorned with ornate golden jewelry, a five-pointed crown, floating pink silk ribbons, and a translucent circular halo behind her head, the upper canvas subtley features celestial bodies (the sun, moon, and stars), while traditional offerings sit arranged along the bottom base.
