This Thangka painting depicts the elephant-headed deity Ganesha in a traditional Tibetan Buddhist iconographic style, where he is revered as a protector deity (Dharmapala) and wealth bringer. Rendered in bright white, four-armed Ganesha performs a rhythmic dance atop his vehicle, a dark shrew or rat (mushika), which rests on a sun disc cushion floating over a colorful lotus pedestal.
